Mental health encompasses our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. It is a foundation stone for our quality of life.

Many of us suffer poor mental health for a variety of reasons. It doesn’t matter whether our reducing mental state is the result of the actions of others or the guilt over the actions of ourselves or just the culmination of a collection of small events that cause us to feel less than ourselves. The ultimate result is frequently the same – a feeling that we lack worth.

It is repeatedly said that it is good to talk. And that is definitely true. No matter what the circumstance, communication shares problems, and invites support and guidance. And for many that is sufficient to break their diminishing mental cycle. However, for others, the strength to confess, to share their feelings, and to accept support is harder. And that is where Perspective Books wants to help.

From our founder’s own experience, he discovered first-hand that writing his own story helped rationalise events, put them in perspective, accept them for what they were and discover a path to move forward. The experience was like having a long honest conversation with himself. And through Perspective Books we invite others to do the same. To find their voice and peace through literature. And if they enjoy the journey, to offer an opportunity to continue writing.
